The Cocktail, a Christian media organisation, in partnership with Mmofra Dawuro (a national children’s publication) has introduced an annual talents competition dubbed SWAG to serve as a platform for stimulating Christian innovation and unearthing talent among Catholic children across the country.

SWAG, an acronym for Saved With Amazing Grace, is a talents championship that will bring together the various Sunday schools/children ministries of the Catholic Church to minister through healthy and exciting competitions in drama, choreography, song ministrations and poetry, on the annunciation theme “HAIL MARY, FULL OF GRACE”(Luke 1:28). The SWAG championship adopts the 2018 World Youth Day theme for the Catholic Church which was published by Pope Francis in his 2018 World Youth Day message to the youth across the world.

The ultimate SWAG 2018 prize package at stake comprise:

  1. A SWAG Championship Trophy
  2. A 24 Inch Digital T.V set
  3. A GHc2000 Cash Prize
  4. Branded SWAG Shirts
  5. Branded Books
  6. Jerusalem Bibles

SWAG 2018 takes off on the 22nd June, 2018 with an online registration of the Sunday Schools of the various Catholic Churches across the country to prepare for and engage in a series of exciting activities that will climax on the 25th of August, 2018 in Accra.

The two tier competition comprise of a first level entry where animators / facilitators of participating Sunday Schools are expected to upload a 20 to 25 minute video compilation of their rehearsed ministration online for the general public and a team of judges to appraise. The best 12 churches will then qualify to the Grand Finale where they will perform before a live audience in Accra on the 25th of August, 2018 which will also be streamed and broadcasted live across the world.
